Trenerry Ave, a few minutes from town

What comes through the door

Ordinary mechanical work, done properly.

No menu board, no upselling, no chain behind it. A workshop in a country town does whatever rolls in that week, and the measure of it is whether the job is right and whether it was ready when you were told it would be.

Servicing

01

Routine servicing for the cars, utes and 4WDs that do Riverland kilometres. Bitumen, dirt tracks, block runs and the long haul up the Sturt Highway all wear a vehicle differently, and the work gets done accordingly.

Mechanical repairs

02

General mechanical repair work, the bread and butter of the shed on Trenerry Ave. Something is not right, you bring it in, Steve tells you what he finds and what it will take to put it straight.

Diagnostics

03

Working out what is actually wrong before anything gets replaced. One customer put it as "vast knowledge spot on diagnostics", which is a fair description of what this part of the job is.

Help when you are stuck

04

Travellers break down out here, often a long way from the person who normally looks after the vehicle. There is a review on this page from someone who came off the highway towing a fifth wheeler, and it is the sort of job that gets taken seriously.

Not sure whether it is something the shed takes on? Ring and ask. It is a short conversation and it saves everybody a wasted trip.

Off the highway

Loxton is a long way from wherever your usual mechanic is.

People come through the Riverland towing vans and fifth wheelers, and things go wrong at the least convenient moment. One of the reviews on this page is exactly that story, and it is the reason it is worth ringing before you assume you are stuck.

“After a recent breakdown on the highway while towing our 5th wheeler, Steve went well out of his way to help. I can highly recommend Kohne Auto Repairs for reliable helpful and friendly service.”

Same family, same street, since 2009.

Koehne Auto Repairs is registered as a family partnership and has been trading in Loxton since October 2009, with the business name registered in 2013. Steve is the one you will be talking to.

It is a galvanised shed on Trenerry Ave with the name painted across the gable and a row of vehicles waiting in the yard under the gums. That is the whole operation, and it is the reason the reviews keep saying the same three things: the work is good, the price is fair, and it is ready when you were told it would be.

Find the place

33 Trenerry Ave, Loxton.

Look for the galvanised shed with the sign across the gable. Loxton and the surrounding district is the patch: if you are in the Riverland, give Steve a call and see what can be sorted.

Best to ring before you drive out, so Steve knows you are coming and can tell you when suits.
